For those of you who stumbled upon the video of Euclideon technology, a thought comes to mind. Why not have this technology incorporated into Autodesk’s 3D design programs such as 3ds max, Revit, Maya and the rest.
If your not familiar with the Euclideon technology check out their promotional video on youtube. They have basically found a way to render huge amount of data while using minimal amount of resources from you laptop computer. In their video, they claim that not even a graphics card is needed.
I wonder if there is anyone out there that might give some insight on the likelihood of such a technology be incorporated into Autodesk 3D design programs.
Architect Walter R. Stahel coined the term “cradle to cradle”. If this model is applied to architecture then does that mean we need to abandon capitalism. To me it seams that capitalism is a linear model, hence “cradle to grave”. Many iconic figures who have been prolific in their opposing views to capitalism, yet the problem is that I can’t find someone who is proposing a clear solution, hence an “-ism”. My background is not in philosophy, political science, or economics so perhaps someone who is can shine some light on this search.
I am working on a master plan for a self sustaining city. This city is focused around agriculture and to be specific there is even a design needed for an agriculture university in the city. Site is rural. I have been thinking about the economical aspect of the city and what could be the main economical support system (industry) for the city. Keeping in mind that this industry can not be negating the fact that the city is or needs to be environmentally friendly and self sustainable.
But then I wonder if a city should be self sustainable in the time of globalization.
I am trying to find harmony in combining fractals and “universal chaos” with architectural design. Any ideas?
How do you think science and architecture can complement each other? Some examples that come to mind are the use of fractals and harmonic functions in creating positive and negative spaces. What are your thoughts.
